Hello Everyone!

Postby Rolarin » Sun Feb 22, 2015 10:18 am

I'm Rolarin and, to be honest, I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to find this website.

I'm a graduate student at the University of Texas at Dallas working towards my CPA and a Masters of Science in Accounting.

I enjoy anime -- all kinds really. I'm also a strong Christian who loves the Lord and LOVES talking about the relationship between anime, Christianity, theology, and apologetics with my friends. I'm somewhat involved with the anime club at UTD, but there aren't many Christians in the organization.

I'd love to contribute to this community and I hope I'll be accepted as a new member!

Thanks and God Bless,

Nothing personal, but I removed your other thread, since we don't allow solicitation of personal info (and accounting would be exceptionally personal). Nevertheless, welcome to CAA.

Welcome! :)

No problem!

I also happen to be the accounting tutor at UTD, so I'll repost my thread focusing on just accounting work for school.

Thanks for the welcome! :)

Welcome to the site!

One Question. What is the relationship between Anime and Apologetics? how do you put the two together to bring people to Christ exactly? Just wondering! Hope you have a blessed day!

Welcome aboard! Here's a cookie.
"Show me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day." Psalm 25:4-5

"Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles." Psalm 25: 16-22

Thank you. Have a good day.

Welcome, welcome. Yay, accountants! Are you by any chance related to Mutant?

Hey Everyone! I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reply back!

I'm not related to Mutant (not sure who that is haha), but I love to meet him/her!

As for how I relate apologetics and anime, it's interesting really! I take an anime/visual novel my friends and I are enjoying, and talk about the implications the world in the series has concerning the existence of God. For example, if you looks at SAO, an easy apologetic segway would be as follows: "I noticed that people's brains are transferred into the game in their entirety (personality and cognition-wise). What does this mean for the existence of the soul? Are mind and brain the same thing? Can we really be reduced in our entirety to information on a hard drive somewhere?" :)
