Now it's time for Dave's News. Dave's News is a parody of actual news events involving Point Loma Nazarene College, and the rest of the world. Any opinions, or facts for that matter, presented on Dave's News are not necessarily those of KPLR, PLNC, or any related agents thereof, but they really should be. Leading off this week's news, PLNC Chaplain, Dr. Gerard Reed is taking a sabbatical, and will only do chapels this week, and during Spiritual Emphasis Week. There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that this reporter was offered the position of Interim Chaplain. Also, overbooking problems continue in PLNC dormitories as several freshman are forced into multiple occupancy of rooms, or being kept in Colony Apartments. Student Development is currently working on the problem and hopes to have everyone placed soon. Well, guys, I'll be thinking of you when I'm back in my private room in Goodwin. New York city jails are jumping on the bandwagon of a popular trend in the penal system. Starting this fall, no smoking signs will be posted. This irritates a number of inmates who committed crimes just because there was no place else left to smoke anymore. On Tuesday, seven Iraqi terrorists released all passengers of a flight that was scheduled to fly from the Sudan to Jordan. All the passengers were released unharmed. The Iraqis were said to be seeking political asylum. Way to make a good impression, guys! Angela Beck, a 22 year old topless dancer pleaded guilty to a felony charge of cocaine possession in relation to cocaine found in a search of a motel room occupied by Beck, another girl, and Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver Micheal Irvin. Beck was sentenced to a $500 fine, 100 hours of community service, and being on every tabloid television show for the next six months. We have to take a break right now... we'll be right back after this. (AD BREAK) We're back on KPLR AM 620 with Dave's News... This just handed to me... It says: "Dear Dave, I need to talk to you right now. Negotiations are continuing with The Point Weekly to carry Dave's News, and they've offered.... (Trails off)... Um... I've gotta sign off now!" This has been Dave's News, week 1 on KPLR AM 620, The Voice of Point Loma. Now, stay tuned for some great music!
