Converting from .cda

Does anyone here have a program to convert a .cda file to a playable music file? I'd rather not have to download another program just for this one file.

i'm assuming that the .cda files you have are on a cd, just use itunes or windows media player to rip them to your computer into either a .wav file or .mp3

No, they're not. I have a damaged CD hat won't play back or rip properly, so I used a CD Recovery program to get what data I could off of it. It all came off as .cda's though so I can't tell if what I needed was recovered in full or not.

you can still use itunes to convert the files, or at least you should be able to. import the files into itunes, set up your preferences so that it will convert them to the audio file type that you want, then select the tracks, go up to advanced and hit the "Convert to" selection and it should start on its own, if it's from a cd that's recognized on cddb/gracenote itunes will most likely even add the song title, artist name, album title, etc.

I just tried that, but it's not letting me import the files into iTunes.

To make sure I've got this right (I never use iTunes for anything really) I'd go to File > Add File to Library, correct?

That's what I tried to do, but it didn't work. Right now I'm giong to try to import the songs directly from the disc and see if it works, but I'm assuming they won't because when I tried to listen to them on WMP I ended up freezing the computer, lol.

I thought .cda files were like shortcuts... they're under 1KB, right?
