This.

If people can cope with bad grammar I'm sure we can all cope with ponies. Be you a fan or not. As a response to this thread however, I'll keep the pony junk on CAA to a minimum to keep everybody happy. (but I'm keeping my avatar.)

The Anti-Pony League will never surrender until the MLP fad is toned down a notch.

Edited due to people taking things seriously.

That gif... is awesome.

But seriously. These fads need to stop. It tends to get annoying after a while.

Man, it's like reading ponychan up in here.

Carry on.

What defines a fad is subjective.

Using memes such as all the Warhammer 40K stuff is somewhat of a fad.

Also...

We're all about love and tolerance.

I'm sure glad those anime and Star Trek and Star Wars fads got over, anyone who likes those things is a total dweeb (lol subtle Ponychan word filter joke).

Or that Warhammer 40k fad. Oh wait. Games Workshop is doing their best to kill that one on their own.

Hmm, perhaps I should have used a different word. I guess it's considered a "meme" now. Either way... "I'm sick and tired of seeing ponies wherever I go!"

Yeah you're right.

I'm sick of seeing those anime pics whereever I go.

What a terrible meme.

Or "a television show." Y'know. Either one.
"I'm sick and tired of seeing ponies wherever I go!"

I'm sick and tired of seeing Portal references and Warhammer 40K crap wherever I go. Well, guess I'll just have to...deal with it!

Every time I see a post from Crossfire, I think of this:

Crossfire!

That's pretty cool you have your own theme song. Definitely had one of these growing up =P

Just saying.

I'm not trying to hate on fans of the series. I'm just tired of seeing pictures of ponies wherever I go. How many times do I have to say this?

It's fine for fans of Ben 10 and Samurai Jack and Death Note to express enjoyment for the things they like, but not My Little Pony fans! But I don't hate them, I just think they should be treated like crap!"

Thanks, that really cleared things up! I totally am no longer offended now that you put it THAT way!

I think we can let this thread die.

I apologise if I offended anyone. It was my intention to create a joke thread voicing my opinion on the whole "MLP takeover", however it didn't turn out as I had expected. People started taking things seriously and it got out of hand. So, yeah.

Telling people they can't have an avatar because you're tired of the series it's from could be seen as pretty rude, and a thread being in goofoff isn't an excuse for trash talking fandoms. That being said:

Drop this. I'll lock this if I have to, but the responses are making it clear that people aren't taking it as funny and we're rapidly approaching flaming in tone.

But but but, that was the whole point about this thread! I would've thought atleast the goof-off area would be free from moderator intervention! I mean, we're all just joking, right? It's satirical banter, man! Lighten up! *hides burning pitchforks and torches behind back*

This thread is now named the "post a clever response that is a link to another picture that would describe your post which would describe your feelings."

Of course on the other hand, I haven't seen a pony post outside this thread since it started.

Just saying.

I personally am not taking any of this seriously. I think anyone taking this seriously is reading way too much into things or should choose words more carefully.

This is Goof Off --let's keep it lighthearted and fun.

I wince every time I see someone tell the moderation staff to "lighten up." The goof-off area is no different from any other area on the site. If the moderators see people being rude to each other, they are to step in and ask them to stop. That is precisely what Mech did. While you may feel everything was only "satirical banter" it was pretty clear that a few people were taking things seriously. It was to those people that the post was made.

In the future, if anyone wishes to request that board policy be changed, please send me a PM and explain what you would like to see changed. I can't guarantee that I will approve all requested changes, but if it fits in with the mission and vision of the board, I will add it to our planned update scope requests.

That being said, civil silliness can continue.

^ I know the feeling, Mith. "Lol, It's just a joke man, lighten up! Why you mad, bro?" Mech did his job for making sure nothing gets out of hand. It may have been the original intention for this thread to be comical, but the results were clearly not as expected.

Hopefully now we can take this with a new civility rather than hostility.
