Main Review (from http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Season-Three-Frieza/dp/B000OIOOW8/ref=pd_rhf_gw_shvl2):

The battle to decide the fate of the universe begins! On the distant Planet Namek, the seven magic Dragon Balls have been brought together and the dragon Porunga summoned. Now, Goku and the Z-fighters are all that stand between the evil Frieza and his wish for immortality! Having survived their encounters with Frieza’s dreaded minions, Goku and his friends are now left to contend with the ruthless tyrant himself. Despite their recent victories, however, the Z-fighters are ill prepared to face the terrifying reality of Frieza’s power. To defeat this seemingly invincible foe and restore peace to the universe, there is but one hope—a Super Saiyan must emerge!

Out of the first three seasons of the entire anime, this one to me is the best, and the only one where Goku receives significant screen time in almost every episode. The following contents are of the uncut version:

Violence/Peril: 6.28. This is the season where

spoilerThe whole planet Namek explodes when Frieza blasts the planet to disintegrate its core. The common thought among the Namekians is that Goku perished due to his inability to breathe in space, which is disproven later by the dragon. Vegeta, Krillan, and Dende are all shown murdered by Frieza's blasts.

Also, during the very extended fight with Frieza, plenty of little flows of blood are shown being coughed out, and whenever Krillan and Vegeta had major holes in their upper bodies. Frieza stabs Krillan with his horn in order to pierce through his body like that, but Krillan fulfills Vegeta's request to mortally wound him so he could become stronger upon healing. Also, the four Ginyu Force members fall into the ogre's pool of blood in the otherworld. Besides this, the violence is of martial arts, energy beams that could easily vaporize a normal human, and characters being thrown thousands of yards with mere punches, kicks, or even tail swats.

Nudity/Sexual: 3.87. The only real significant nudity was a brief sight of an dead alien's rear end. As for sexual content, Master Roshi is once again being perverted with women like Chi Chi on Earth.

Theological Themes: 1.67. The ogres have torsos reading "HELL" backwards in the otherworld. That is the only questionable theological area of the season (which is very brief), though some may be disturbed by the Dragon Balls wishing for the resurrection of dozens of Nameks as well as six main characters, along with the titles Goku gave himself as a Super Saiyen.

Other Questionable Themes: 2.84. Dr. Briefs is commonly having a cigarette in his mouth that does not get smoked. Language is more intense and frequent at the beginning, but dies down more towards the end. There is a single use of "my g**" by Vegeta and perhaps the word b*****d, but the words d*** and h*** are used very infrequently.
