Review If you want an anime that has an overarching plot of epic proportions, then do not continue reading this review. If you want a completely random anime filled to the brim with hilarious situations, then School Rumble is for you! There is little to no character development, meaning that you can like one character and not worry about if that character will change. Also, the series is episodic, so if a friend drops by you can show them what episode you are on and they will be able to pick up what's going on. There are many references to other anime like...Spoiler: One of the characters suddenly changes his hair to gold, spoofing Dragon Ball Z.

Violence is not really a factor in this anime. Some of the characters fight, but in a crazy, comedic fashion. I don't recall any blood shed. Spoiler: One character is hit by a bus, but he emerges relatively unharmed.

SC/N: There is a little fanservice in this anime.

spoilerMany of the male background characters are perverts, although this is used in a comedic fashion.One of the male characters has a massive collection of perverted "Research", but this is neither important nor relevant. Some jokes are made referencing a female character's chest. There is a picture of a nude girl, but it is censored and very brief. One male character is exercising in the buff when a female character stumbles upon him. This event is referenced a few times. One of the female characters discusses "positions" with another character, but the other believes them to be wrestling moves.



Theological themes: One character acts as an animal fortune teller. Another character is part of a Catholic church and dresses as a nun, but this is not empathized.

Others: There is some language used throughout the anime. One character is offered a beer, but declines.

School Rumble: 2nd Semester (Jump to title)

Review School Rumble 2 follows the exact rhythm of the original, even bringing back some of the old gags while adding some new ones. If you liked the original, then you will be fine. If not, then you can skip it. The first half is actually better than the first series, but after episode 19 it began going downhill. The ending was not very satisfactory as it feels like the end of any other episode.

Violence: The violence is mostly the same, but...

spoilerThe entire class of 2-C has a gunfight, but the guns are fake. It is not said what the guns shoot, but the likely culprit is paintballs, as some of the "fallen" characters are seen in puddles of red. There are no lasting effects of the fight, so everyone picks up their stuff and go to school the next day. There are a few other fights, but they are usually brief.



SC/N: The fanservice does increase a little bit this go around.

spoilerBoth the male and female characters go to a bathhouse, but there is no detailed nudity, mostly hair and steam.
There is a scene where a female character is showering while having a conversation. You see nearly her entire body, but the female covers the exposed areas.
One of the male characters gives away his "collection" of "Research materials" (The pervy kind.)
There are some scenes with girls in outfits that empathize some areas, but this is brief and not needed for the overall story.
Some jokes are made about a female character's bust.
Some of the male characters are perverts.
