Commentary: How I Spent My Summer Vacation

This article was one I had in mind to write already during summer. My plans to write it solidified when I received the e-mail from Dr. Ryan described in the article. I didn't know Dan all that well. My first year at PLNC, I lived in room C-5 of Goodwin Hall. Dan lived in C-4, right next door. Dan basically kept to himself most of the time. Later on, I had a few classes with him, as we were both in the same department. The year after Dan's death, I lived in C-4, which was a little odd at first for that reason.

This article also briefly contains a mention of what I think about the rest of my family, in noting that no one else would help my mother. My mother has recovered from operations without me being around, but has had to put up with a lot of verbal beration from others in my family, something I'll go more into depth into when I write my autobiography for this page.

As those of you who went with me through PLNC know, one of the jobs I had to leave was being the ASB Director of Activities. Although my Associate Director helped put a lot of the First Week Activities together, my absence did hurt the program and put a strain on our relationship. The idea has been bandied about to place in the ASB Constitution the idea that the Activities Director can receive assistance to stay on campus and perform his or her job over the break.

You also see a much more idealistic me in this writing than what would happen in later years. I had no idea yet just how caustic my enemies could be.
